Review: Reolink TrackMix PoE (Dual-Lens Auto Tracking Camera)
I’ve been using the Reolink TrackMix PoE for outdoor security and it’s easily one of the best cameras I’ve installed so far. The biggest advantage is that it combines dual-lens viewing + auto tracking, while still being stable and reliable thanks to PoE (one cable for power + internet).
What I liked most
1) Dual-lens is a game changer
The TrackMix has two lenses—one gives you a wide view, and the other zooms in to track movement. This makes it feel like you’re getting two cameras in one, and it’s great for monitoring driveways, gardens, or gates.
2) Auto tracking actually works
Unlike many “tracking” cameras that struggle, this one tracks people and cars smoothly. It’s very useful because it doesn’t just record movement—it follows it.
3) PoE = stable connection (no WiFi headaches)
This is the main reason I chose the PoE version. The connection is rock solid, video loads quickly, and it’s perfect if you already have an NVR or PoE switch.
4) Clear video quality day and night
The image quality is sharp and detailed, and night vision is strong enough to clearly see movement and faces at a good distance.
5) Great value for the features
For what you get—tracking + zoom + PoE reliability—it’s excellent value compared to many “premium” brands that cost much more.
Things to consider
1) Needs correct positioning
To get the best tracking performance, placement matters. Install it with a clear view of where people/cars will pass, and avoid pointing it at very busy areas like trees moving in wind.
2) Not the smallest camera
It’s not tiny, so if you want something very discreet, keep that in mind. But it looks solid and “professional security-grade.”
3) Settings take a little tweaking
Out of the box it works well, but you’ll get the best results once you adjust motion sensitivity, tracking zones, and detection types.
Final verdict
If you want a camera with reliable PoE performance, wide coverage, zoomed tracking, and genuinely useful auto-tracking, the Reolink TrackMix PoE is an amazing choice. It feels like a proper security upgrade, especially when paired with an NVR.
