Aston Villa transfers: Contract decision made as Eddie Howe makes feelings on Tyrone Mings clear
The January transfer window is less than two months away, meaning speculation over who may be coming and going at Villa Park is already starting to swirl.
A few names have already been linked with summer moves as plans are put into place by Gerrard and his backroom staff.
With that in mind, here is the latest transfer talks from in and around Villa Park.
Nketiah’s transfer decision
Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah could be on the move in the upcoming January window.
The forward is out of contract in the summer and latest reports suggest that he has decided against putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Nketiah is yet to play a minute in the Premier League so far this season and is said to be wanting to leave the Emirates Stadium in search for more game time.
Aston Villa are one of the clubs who have previously been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old.

Howe’s Mings comments
Aston Villa captain Tyrone Mings has been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer with Newcastle United said to be interested in the England international.
The Magpies are now managed by former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, who worked with Mings during the duo’s time at the Vitality Stadium.
The defender struggled for game time under the Newcastle boss, but speaking in 2019, Howe only had good things to say about the England man.
“I’m really, really pleased for him on a personal level. Seeing how hard he worked here, coming back from the various injuries he had – fantastic attitude at all times to come back and achieve,” he said.
Players for Gerrard to build around
With the January window quickly approaching speculation over who may leave Villa Park may start to step up as Steven Gerrard looks to add his own stamp to the squad.
The Villa boss is expected to be backed in the transfer window as the side look to climb up the Premier League table.
There are however a few players who the manager will look to build his team around in his first half of a season in charge.
