Indeed, Ndombele started the season very much out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo, with plenty of rumours surrounding a potential exit during the summer. 

However, once he proved his fitness he began to work his way into the side, showing some nice touches despite the poor collective form of the north London outfit. 

Two goals in 11 appearances is not necessarily anything to write home about, but he certainly has the capability to provide a spark from midfield, a trait which others in the club’s rank lack. 

When it comes to Alli, his Spurs career over the past five seasons has centred on a quest to rediscover the form he showed during the 2016/17 campaign.
