Harry Maguire has already delivered his verdict on Brendan Rodgers amid United links

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has previously described Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers as a “really good coach,” amid ongoing connections linking the Northern Irishman with Old Trafford.

Rodgers has been installed as the favourite with the bookmakers to replace United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a run of four defeats in their last six Premier League matches.

United’s 2-0 defeat to cross-city rivals Manchester City prior to the international break sparked calls from an increasing number of United supporters for a change to be made in the dugout, with their patience beginning to run rapidly thin.

The Reds, following an excellent recruitment drive during the summer transfer window, were tipped to be one of the leading contenders for the Premier League title this season. However, despite landing the likes of Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo, United appear to be light years away from threatening the likes of Liverpool and City.
