Dusan Vlahovic is not actively looking to leave Fiorentina in the January transfer window despite being the subject of interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, according to reports in Italy.

The Serbia international is one of Serie A’s most in-demand strikers ahead of the upcoming window with 29 goals in his last 49 league appearances for Fiorentina.

Antonio Conte is keen for Tottenham to make Vlahovic one of his first major signings after he was appointed as Spurs’ new manager last week.

However, Arsenal are also in the running to sign Vlahovic with Sky Italy reporting last week that the Gunners have already met with Fiorentina’s hierarchy and have indicated that they are willing to pay an €80 million (£68m) fee for the 21-year-old.

However, La Nazione reports that Vlahovic is not considering the option of leaving Fiorentina before the season is over and will assess his future next summer.

The report also claims that Fiorentina are also looking to avoid selling Vlahovic in January as they believe more teams will bid for the striker in the summer window.

But Fiorentina would reconsider their stance if a team were to bid in excess of €60m (£51.1m).

When asked about reports linking Vlahovic with a move in January, Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano said: ‘We are talking about a guy who has scored eight goals in 11 appearances even if, during some games, we were not able to provide service properly.

‘I don’t read papers, I’ve heard about Arsenal, Tottenham, City, Juventus and Milan.

‘They are just rumours and not too credible for me, the guy is highly focused and he wants to do well.’

Meanwhile, Fiorentina director Joe Barone has refused to rule out Vlahovic’s exit in the upcoming window.

‘It’s tough to go into details, we have a game tonight and an entire season ahead. There are many games remaining before January, we are very attentive on the market and for all positions, not just the attack,’ Barone told DAZN last month.

‘Vlahovic is part of the team, he took a decision and we are preparing for the future, not just in terms of singles, but also in terms of the group.’
