£32m Spurs star shares what a Pochettino player at PSG has told him
Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon has told The London Evening Standard what Paris Saint-Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi has said to him about Antonio Conte.
What’s the story?
Reguilon has been asking Hakimi about new Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.
Hakimi, 23, worked with Conte at Inter Milan last season.
Inter won the Serie A title.
The Morocco international, who can play as a right-back or as a right wing-back, joined PSG in the summer of 2021.
The ex-Real Madrid youngster is now working with former Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino at PSG.
Reguilon knows Hakimi from their time at Madrid.
The 24-year-old Spain international left-back himself joined Tottenham from Madrid in the summer of 2020.
Reguilon cost Tottenham £32 million in transfer fee (Sky Sports).
What Sergio Reguilon has said
The Spurs defender told The London Evening Standard: “I’ve watched a lot of videos of Chelsea and Inter Milan, and I have a friend at Inter, Achraf Hakimi who I spoke to about the gaffer.
“He told me I will improve a lot under him and I want to do that as soon as possible. He said I will have to work really, really hard but I will improve a lot. In one week, I can already see that.”
Encouraging from Sergio Reguilon
It is clear from Reguilon’s comments that the defender wants to be a success at Spurs under Conte.
In our view, it is really great and encouraging to see the left-back doing his homework on Conte.
It shows that the 24-year-old wants to impress his new manager and play the way Conte wants him to.
