Xavi Hernandez was today unveiled as the new manager of Barcelona following a presentation at the club. And Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was in attendance for the event.

As reported by AS, numerous famous faces from Barcelona’s storied history attended the presentation of Xavi. With Guardiola being one of the names travelling to Catalonia to watch the event.

The City manager was key behind Xavi’s success at Barcelona and who the former Spanish international established himself as one of the best midfielders in the modern era of football.

Indeed, Guardiola’s Barcelona side are regarded as one of the best club sides in the history of football. And Xavi was one of the key players in the team alongside midfield partner Andreas Iniesta.

And now, Xavi will be tasked with saving the sinking ship that is Barcelona in 2021. The La Liga giants sit ninth in the standings and face the genuine possibility of dropping into the UEFA Europa League via a third-place finish in the UEFA Champions League.

Indeed, Xavi faces one of the hardest tasks in football. And on social media, City fans were happy to see Guardiola attend the presentation for the new Barcelona manager.
