What Luis Suarez did to Kenny Dalglish caught on camera after Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid
Luis Suarez stayed behind after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening to seek out Kenny Dalglish.
It was an evening to forget at Anfield for Suarez, who was unable to inspire Diego Simeone’s side to a vital three points in their Champions League group with the Reds.
The Uruguayan was booed for much of the match by home supporters in attendance and was then subjected to ironic jeers as he saw he a deflected effort disallowed for offside in the second half.
Jordan Henderson revealed prior to the match the impact Suarez had on his career during their time together at Liverpool, and the Reds’ captain was seen chatting away to the former Kop hero at the full-time whistle down the tunnel.
It was not only Henderson who the Atletico striker was reunited with on Wednesday, however, as Suarez got the chance to catch up with another familiar face.
In exclusive footage published by LFCTV, the 34-year-old can be seen sharing a warm embrace with Dalglish before the pair begin to talk close to where the team coaches arrive on matchdays.
Dalglish was the manager in charge of the Reds when the Uruguayan striker was signed by Liverpool back in January 2011 and Suarez’s only piece of silverware – the 2012 League Cup- while at the club was earned under the stewardship of the Scot.
Moments later, the duo are then pictured posing for a photograph alongside another successful striker in the club’s illustrious history: Fernando Torres.
Dalglish is stood in the middle of Suarez and Torres holding up an Atletico Madrid third kit – the shirt worn by Simeone’s side at Anfield in their 2-0 loss.
