Arsenal close to signing Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina
According to reports from Italy, Arsenal are looking to beat Tottenham to the signing of Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic.
Di Marzio reports that representatives of Vlahovic have already been in London looking to tie up a deal to bring the Serbian to London. It’s claimed Arsenal will look to pay around £68m for the 21-goal striker.
Vlahovic, 21, is one of the hottest properties in Europe at the moment and reports a few days back suggested Antonio Conte would look to bring him to Tottenham.
The £68m fee is a slight drop in the valuation of Vlahovic from the summer.
At that time, it was suggested Fiorentina would ask for as much as £77m for their star attacking talent. However, with no new deal on the table or agreed as yet, it appears La Viola will lower that price slightly. Back then, both Liverpool and Spurs were mentioned among the clubs being keen.
Vlahovic signing would represent another big move for Mikel Arteta and Edu. They signed Ben White and more in the summer, as the Gunners spent over £100m.
TBR’s View: Tomiyasu part two for Arsenal with Vlahovic
What a coup this would be for the Gunners. They beat Spurs to the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu in the summer, and this could be another big bit of business.
Landing Vlahovic would send a huge signal of intent. Further, it would secure the future of their attack, with the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette not getting any younger.
If Arsenal do pull off a deal to sign Vlahovic, then Edu will once again be deserving of huge credit. Yes, the fee is a big one, but this is a top young striker who hasn’t hit his ceiling yet either.
Should Arsenal get their hands on Vlahovic, then it sends a message to the rest of Europe. The Gunners mean business, and the future is looking brighter.
