Man United send scouts to observe Monaco ace Aurelien Tchouameni in UEL clash
Manchester United scouts to observe Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni during their game against PSV on Thursday
The 21-year-old has developed into a fine midfielder under the tutelage of former Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac in the past year or so. His midfield performances last season were sensational as he helped the Ligue 1 side reach within 5 points of the league title.
The Frenchman has kept up his good form this season and has played in nearly every game, having made 18 appearances and scoring 2 goals in the process. In fact, his displays with the national team also caught the eye during Les Bleus’ UEFA Nations League triumph last month.
Several clubs are now trying to sign the midfielder, with Man United looking to get ahead of the pack. The Red Devils have apparently sent scouts to observe Tchouameni during Monaco’s game against PSV in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
The French club are thought to be wanting £40million to let go of their prized asset, which should be a comfortable figure for the Old Trafford outfit.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must be well aware that Paul Pogba could depart on a free transfer next summer amidst interest from Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid. Additionally, Nemanja Matic shall turn 34 next year, and it remains to be seen whether he has the legs to play in week-in and week-out.

Moreover, losing out on the youngster could also open up the possibility of him joining either Juventus, Barcelona, or Chelsea, with the latter a direct title rival to United.
Thus, given that Solskjaer could use a young quality midfielder in the centre of the pitch, there are few better than Tchouameni, and if the scouts like what they see on Thursday, it would be wise to move ahead with the deal.
