Everything Unai Emery said in his Press conference about Newcastle United last night
Unai Emery stated he was waiting for Newcastle United to make an official offer for his services last night.
Speaking at his Press conference after Villarreal’s 2-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League he insisted he would work with club president Fernando Roig on the matter.
But he did firm up stories linking him with the job and that Newcastle had shown an interest in luring him back to the Premier League.
Talking to reporters in Spain he said: “I go to bed as Villarreal coach and tomorrow I will wake up as Villarreal coach.
“If there was any offer, it would be via the club. am focused here on Villarreal.
“I can’t say I’m leaving. I am going to continue preparing for the Getafe game and that is the attitude that I am going to have.”
When asked if Newcastle were to pay the £6million compensation package for his services, he said: “In light of this hypothesis, I would speak with Fernando Roig.
“He would have respect for the squad and the club.
“I would consult it first. If a decision was made it would go either way.
“It is not that I close or open the door.
“To the interest (of Newcastle) I have not said no.
“I would discuss it with Fernando and the club. can not say anything more. My dedication is where I am.”
