“Let’s Think Match By Match, Udinese & FC Sheriff First”

Inter defender Federico Dimarco has played down the importance of the Derby della Madonnina in his head and insists the team are taking one game at a time, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking on television to DAZN after the match against Empoli on Wednesday night, Federico Dimarco claimed that he is not thinking about the derby against AC Milan just yet.

“Think about the derby? No, let’s think match by match. First, there is Udinese and Sheriff.”

Inter will want to continue their form against Udinese on Sunday and then will hope to increase their chances of Champions League qualification by beating FC Sheriff in midweek.

The young left back scored Inter’s second goal in the 2-0 win over Empoli when he met a Lautaro Martinez cross at the back post.

It is clear that he appreciated the pass from his teammate, saying: “It’s a wonderful feeling. Lautaro Martinez’s assist? I’m happy, he put in a nice ball. They are a great team, they got important results. We did well to have won.”

The win allows Inter to keep tabs on Napoli and AC Milan ahead of them in the table, which Federico Dimarco believes is important.

“It was certainly a very important victory because the others in front are strong and we have to keep up. I earned all this with my work.”
